“Warren” is a 3-4-year-old Chihuahua and like all Chihuahuas he takes a little time to warm up to people. Anyone who has ever lived with a Chihuahua knows what we mean – devoted to their families but a little wary of strangers. Warren weighs approximately 11 lbs. and has the most unusual coloring. He's dappled like a horse.

Have you ever tasted Bananas Foster? When we think of this popular dessert, we think of our “Foster” – a Whippet/Hound Mix. Foster is only a year old and makes our hearts all gooey like hot brown sugar. He warms our souls like cinnamon and dark rum and makes us smile like our favorite scoop of vanilla ice cream. And he’s just slightly bananas. But we love him anyway. Little shy around strangers and will need time to acclimate to his new home.

“Felicity” is a Silky Terrier. She is 4 y/o and timid. Patience and a secure fenced enclosure are needed to adopt this sweet dog. Kept in a birdcage at an Amish farm, Felicity was given to our volunteers by a commercial dog breeder once she began delivering stillborn (unsellable) puppies. Just looking for a heart big enough to climb into.

“Harlequin” is a 2 y/o Shepherd. Wintertime means the holidays, and the holiday could be Christmas, and Christmas means Shepherds. Gathering around a manger or hanging out at 1 Love 4 Animals (we currently have 5 GSD’s for adoption). You do not have to be a wiseman to see what a great addition this young female would be to your family.

Dona Flor: The Tale of a Big Woman with a Big Heart is a beloved children’s book. Dona Flor and Her Two Husbands is a Spanish film from the 70’s about a woman living with two men. We named this 3-4 y/o Rottweiler “Dona Flor” because she is a big girl with a big heart, and we like the thought of Dona living with two men. We embrace the LGBTQ community because they embrace shelter pets and support our lifesaving programs!
